Harry-Megan Interview: Buckingham Palace Breaks Silence, Said - Issues Concerning Racism
Buckingham Palace finally broke its silence on Tuesday over the interview of Prince Harry and Megan Merkel with American chat-show presenter Oprah Winfrey, saying the royal family was saddened by the revelations.
In a TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, Megan said that an unnamed member of the royal family had raised concerns with her husband Prince Harry about the color of their baby (fair-skinned).
The Buckingham Palace statement said that the whole family was saddened to learn how challenging the last few years had been for Harry and Megan.
The statement said that the issues raised, especially those related to racism, are worrisome. Some memories may vary, but they have been taken very seriously and will be resolved privately by the family. Harry, Megan and Archie will always be very dear members of the family.
The statement comes a day after the interview aired in the UK on the television channel, in which Megan stated that she had thought of committing suicide as the newly-married Duchess of Sussex.
In a TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, Megan stated that she was feeling suicidal after being separated from her marriage to Prince Harry and not being part of the royal family.
She said that an unnamed member of the royal family had raised concerns with her husband Prince Harry about the color of the baby's skin.
